Abilty to send alerts on telegram groups.

i’ve been able to use https://www.notifierchatbot.com/ in previous work, to work around issues like this. There is however a delay because its email -> telegram based

This would be very useful feature. Hope it’s available for Free plan users too.

I’ve chosen uptimerobot as my uptime monitoring and alerting platform, specifically because of the possibility of receiving alerts in Telegram (I’m using it at work to communicate with colleagues). And only to discover, that this feature is nearly useless as it doesn’t work with Telegram groups. What a disappointment.

And Slack and mattermost and Signal (or worst case Whattsapp)

@Livtec GmbH Thanks for your answer! I can’t send a message to a bot in a telegram group because it has (has no access to messages) and it ignores any commands (include /start command). I can change the visibility of messages through the @botFather, but this is not my bot and I cannot change it here. That’s why it doesn’t work for me

@Tomas sure, no problem. I’ve tried adding new bot to a new group, I’ve tried adding bot to an existing group. I’ve blocked bot and unblocked bot, I’ve added bot to a public group, I’ve added bot to a private group - nothing works for me.

I also am struggling with this implementation - alerts do go to the telegram bot but if I add the bot to a group they do not go to the group and I can’t add it to a channel ??

How can someone else also get the alerts ?? Dothey have to set up a separate telegram integration ?

This is not the way telegram works and I would expect to create a bot, add the bot to a channel or group and then set the bot id and a channel / group id into my uptimerobot config for notifications to be sent ??

Hi Lance,
you need to have a separate integration per chat/group. To start the bot in group you need to call /start your_id or /start@itrinity_ur_bot your_id. If you have any other questions please contact us at support@uptimerobot.com
