Internal network monitoring (behind firewall)#413

M

Provide an agent or something that can run on raspberry pi of similar that can then monitor uptime of internal resources that cannot be exposed externally directly

This FR would be a deffrentiator. Internal Monitoring Agent would be great. either as an install package or an OVA/QCOW image that can be spun up and manager from the same control panel. Please reconsider the status of this FR.

I agree. Not sure why this was dismissed so readily and without good reason. Rather disappointing.

Isn’t a heart beat monitoring the thing you are looking for?

Not entirely, no. Certainly an idea and better than nothing but this only allows for yes/no reporting without metrics. If you wanted to do ping (or even do something more complex like monitor disk space on a virtual machine - and report those metrics - example - latency), your recommendation doesn’t cover it. There is so much more you could do with an agent, including managing it remotely.

Something that basically acts as an internal gateway which you could configure monitoring tasks on from the website would be great.

I believe it would be super interesting to support Wireguard so that we can close communication via VPN and monitor internal IPs, internal services and other assets!
I look forward to a solution like this.

When will you implement this? Looks like lots of support for it

I intend to as soon as possible, I have many clients who are looking for CGNAT

From my perspective absense of internal agent of UptimeRobot is a gap. You offer me to use CronJob monitor. Okay, but where the scripts and examples? I am paying for UptimeRobot because I don’t want to manage this. So, please provide some scripts with examples how to configure this. Beter if you provide Docker image that I can deploy to my Kubernetes cluster. I want an instruction.

If there’s 1 gaping hole in UptimeRobot…this is it. Until then, I have to find another product that monitors LAN IP’s…especially network switches.
