This is something I really want as well and makes sense with what UpTimeRobot offers with SSL expiration.

This should be possible, and information can be fetched easily from WHOIS, same as how uptime.com offer. Please can this be added.

Domain expiration alerts seem to be a little premature, at least with GoDaddy registrations. We’ve had a couple of false positives already where UptimeRobot has alerted us a month out, but GoDaddy autorenewals apparently happen closer to the expiration date. For teams like ours that monitor dozens of sites for clients (some of whom have their domains registered at GoDaddy), this might end up being more noise than signal. It would be great if your team could tailor the alerts for major registrars based on their specific autorenewal practices.

Agreed that the notifications appear to be 2 weeks before renewal which is too far for my needs, 1 week would be much more useful.
Would also like to tailor the alert types as a domain renewal expiring in 2 weeks doesn’t warrant a 3am pager IMO.

IMO these should be the same as the SSL notifications, which come in a countdown spread i.e. 30 days; 21 days; 7 days; 3 days; 1 day etc. We have many clients where auto-renewal is not enabled, and we need to get their approvals, which sometimes takes weeks to get…

Difficult to cater for all scenarios, here which is why I guess you have multiple optoins on how to receive them. We use Slack chanell where alerts are sent and monitored, and not intrusive.

Hi folks, thanks for the feedback!

@Michael Lehmkuhl - it is not a false positive, it is just reminder 1 month before, right? However, we will consider to include settings where you will specify days to alert. Similar as SSL cert. reminders: https://uptimerobot.nolt.io/80

@Infrastructure - you can specify which alert contact types and integrations should be notified about domain expiry reminders. You can do so in the settings of alert contact/integration. It is the same setting as for SSL c. reminders. (see sceenshot)

Thank you @Frantisek , I didn’t realise domain that the contact options had been amended for that.

It’s been several years since the request to make domain expiration notification have feature parity with SSL certificate renewals.

Having the ability to set the notification times as you can with SSL cert monitoring would be excellent as 30 days is a common registry autorenewal setting.

I was just paged in the middle of the night about a domain renewal and then a few hours later the domain auto-renewed. Even just setting the default to 29 days would be an improvement.
