Hi UptimeRobot team,
I’d like to suggest a feature for the keyword monitoring type.
Currently, keyword monitors only inspect the raw HTML returned by the server. This works well for traditional server-rendered pages, but it doesn’t work for modern JavaScript single-page applications (SPAs) built with frameworks like
Vue.js, React, or Angular.
In these apps, the server returns a nearly empty HTML shell (typically just a <div id="app"></div>), and the real content is rendered in the browser by JavaScript after the page loads. Since the monitor doesn’t execute JavaScript, it
never sees the rendered content, so keyword checks can’t reliably reflect whether the app is actually working.
My suggestion would be to add an optional “render JavaScript” mode for keyword monitors — one that loads the page in a headless browser, waits for the content to render, and then checks for the keyword. This would let us monitor SPAs
the same way we currently monitor server-rendered sites.
This would be very valuable for teams running Vue/React/Angular front-ends, who currently have to rely on separate synthetic monitoring tools just for this use case.
Thanks for considering it, and keep up the great work.
Best regards,
